Crystal Tea Room Wedding – Getting the chance to photograph a wedding is always such a privilege, but when you’re able to document the celebration of a couple as lovely and kind as Julia and Owen, it’s truly a dream come true. Their love story is one for the books, and I was so excited to be a part of their big day at the beautiful Crystal Tea Room inside the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia. Their wedding was filled with love, laughter, and so much beauty.
Let’s start with their love story. Julia and Owen’s connection began in London, England at a bar just outside Piccadilly Circus. They quickly discovered they had friends in common from Julia’s alma mater, Marist College. After returning to the states, they began spending all of their free time together and the rest is history. It was clear from the moment I met this couple when we shot their engagement photos at Longwood Gardens, that their love story was unique and filled with genuine affection for one another.
Their wedding day was just as magical. We started by capturing photos of the couple and their wedding party before the storm arrived, and the photos came out gorgeously. The ceremony was beautiful, with the couple saying their vows in a sweet and intimate venue setting. Highlights of the reception included the incredible floral decoration by RAM Floral, thoughtful speeches, and amazing entertainment provided by Dreamtime Band from EBE Entertainment. Everything came together to create a truly special day and a cherished memory for everyone in attendance.
One of my favorite aspects of Julia and Owen’s wedding was how beautifully it captured the true essence of Philadelphia. The Crystal Tea Room is a stunning spot, and so quintessentially Philly, with its history and beautiful architecture. The wedding party photoshoot before the storm reached the area was one of the highlights of the day. The background of the iconic 2nd US Bank and Philadelphia Merchant Building made for a stunning visual that couples often dream of. The energy of the wedding party was infectious, and everyone was excited to be there, creating a lively, fun atmosphere.
There is truly nothing like the feeling of capturing the magic of a wedding day, and Julia and Owen’s was no exception. Working with this couple was an absolute dream, and it was so easy to see just how much they love each other and how happy they were on their special day. It was such a treat to be able to document their love story and create stunning photos that will be cherished for years to come. To all the engaged couples out there, I hope you take inspiration from this lovely couple and remember that, no matter where your journey leads you, Rain or shine, Philadelphia has plenty of beautiful places to celebrate your love.
