The Union League of Philadelphia Wedding: Some couples just feel like family, and that’s exactly how I’ve come to feel about Alexis and AJ. I first met Alexis when I had the honor of photographing two weddings for her close family friends, and she and her sister were bridesmaids in both. When Alexis reached out to me to document the very first wedding in their family, I was so touched. It’s truly special to be trusted to capture such a significant day, and their elegant, black-tie affair was a dream to photograph.

As a wedding photographer, I get to witness so many different love stories, and theirs is one of the most remarkable. This beautiful couple met while in med school and are both surgeons. I can only imagine how much dedication and hard work that takes, and to find love along the way is truly a testament to their connection.

Alexis and AJ chose two of Philadelphia’s most beautiful and historic venues. Their ceremony was held at the Kimmel Center, a stunning, modern space that provided a dramatic backdrop as they exchanged vows. It was a beautiful, intimate moment, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at the iconic Union League of Philadelphia for the reception. The Union League is steeped in history, founded in 1862 as a patriotic society to support the Union during the Civil War. It’s a place that has hosted presidents, dignitaries, and leaders from around the world. As their website states, the motto, Amor Patriae Ducit—or “Love of Country Leads”—still drives the club today. The ballroom itself is one of my favorite venues to photograph; its grandeur provides an incredible backdrop for a celebration. A special thank you to the amazing team at the Union League for their exceptional hospitality; it’s now officially one of my favorite wedding venues in Philly!

The evening was a beautiful blend of history and celebration. The decor, expertly crafted by the amazing Vito Russo of Xtraordinary Events, transformed the space into a breathtaking party. A personal highlight for me was photographing Alexis and AJ’s first dance from above. The perspective was just spectacular, capturing the magic of the moment as they swayed under the beautiful ballroom lights.

With everyone dressed to the nines, the energy was absolutely electric. The dance floor stayed packed all night, filled with so much joy, laughter, and a true sense of community.
